Despite reports of scorching temperatures next month, a local Met Office forecaster said the average temperature in June will not be hot enough to class a 'heatwave'.

So will it be hot in June?

It will definitely feel warmer next month with the average daytime temperature as 17C in Berkshire.

A local Met Office forecaster said: "Although, there are still some uncertainties around the weather for June it looks like dry weather will predominate, especially in the south and east.

"Spells of more unsettled weather including rain and strong winds are still possible but, if these occur, they are most likely to affect the north and north west of the UK. Temperatures will likely to near normal overall, with warm days but cooler nights."

A forecast for Wednesday to Friday reads: "Mostly dry on Wednesday with some sunny spells.

"Periods of sunshine on Thursday but the odd shower is possible. Fine and dry on Friday. Temperatures gradually returning towards average."
