SHOPPING centre offices could be replaced by new flats - that's just one of the many planning applications submitted or determined by Slough Borough Council or the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Change of use from offices to 37 flats at Nicholsons House, Nicholsons Walk, Maidenhead (21/01701/CLASSO).

The community mental health team and memory clinic offices located above the Nicholsons Shopping Centre could be converted into new flats if Royal Borough planning officers grant planning permission.

The proposed apartments are comprised of four studio, 14 one-beds, and 19 two-bedroom apartments.

In terms of parking, 85 spaces are already available that were for the office employees. However, the developers are looking to reduce that number to 28 spaces for future occupiers.

The parking spaces will be located in the multistorey car park for the Nicholsons Walk shopping centre, accessed from Broadway via a ramp as per the existing arrangements.

Secure sheltered cycle parking will be provided for the residents in the existing basement of the building. In total, 56 cycle spaces will be provided.

Change of use from office to 28 flats at Churchill House, 1, London Road, Slough (F/01308/030).

Developers want to change the three-storey Churchill House office block into 28 new flats, which Slough planning officers are still considering whether or not to grant permission.

The scheme comprises 18 one-bed, seven two-bed, two three-bed, and one three-bedroom apartments.

The surface car park is to be retained, providing a total of 46 spaces. A secure cycle store will be provided towards the north of the car park area with capacity for 30 cycles.

Extension to apartment building to provide an extra 90 flats at 163 Bath Road, Slough (P/04241/014).

Planning officers gave the go-ahead for developers to build an extension onto an existing apartment block in order to provide new homes.

The site was previously a data centre office building but was converted into 106 flats in 2013.

Ten of the new properties will be studio apartments, 41 will be one-bedroom flats and the remaining 39 apartments will be two-bedroom.

Thirty-two of the apartments will have balconies.

Just over 100 car parking spaces will be provided, in addition to the 137 space car park.

Cycle parking for up to 90 bicycles, bin storage and amenity space will also be provided.
