17 PEOPLE who were reported missing in the Thames Valley have never been found, police have revealed.
Data published by the local force showed Thames Valley Police was sent 43,800 missing person reports from 2017 to 2020.
From these reports, the missing person was found on 43,783 occasions.
This means 17 people were not found during this time period.

These figures give a ‘find’ rate of 99.96 per cent.
The data comes from a Freedom of Information request sent to the force.
In their response, Thames Valley Police also revealed the ethnicity, gender and age group which was most often reported missing.
In terms of ethnicity, white British people were most often reported missing in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Although, there were more reports where the ethnicity was ‘not recorded’.
Men were reported missing more often than women across each year.
And the age group most often reported missing was 10-19 year olds, despite 0-9 year-olds being the age group reported missing the least often.
