On May 17, at around 3.45pm, Ahmed was stopped driving a vehicle on Dedworth Road, Windsor, when an officer attempted to administer a roadside drug swipe.

Ahmed refused to provide a sample, and as a result was disqualified from driving for 17 months, and was ordered to carry out 80 hours unpaid work.

Slough Observer:

Investigating officer PC Luke Jenkins of the Neighbourhood Problem Solving Team, said: “Ahmed refused to provide a sample of saliva at the roadside for analysis and also refused to provide a sample of blood at the police station for testing.

“This continuous refusal led to his guilty plea at court and his subsequent sentence.

“I am pleased to see the courts have handed down this sentence and hope this shows those who refuse to provide a specimen when requested will be taken through the courts and will face justice.”
