In 2019/20, there were over two million theft offences recorded across the UK.

These vary from items that are worth little to goods worth tens of thousands of pounds.

Below is a breakdown of some Slough residents who have been convicted in court since the start of the year on theft charges.

Louise Marie Casey, 33

On July 11, 2020, stole bottles of alcohol, to the value of £206.40, belonging to Sainsbury's, Uxbridge Road, Slough. Has to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £22 and pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

Roy Mehta, 59

On May 10, 2021, stole households items valuing £101 belonging to Dunelm. For this offence, Mehta has to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £22 and pay costs of £30 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Also on May 10, 2021, stole food items valuing £148.21 belonging to Marks and Spencers. Discharged conditionally for 12 months with a fine of £52.

Milad Torab, 36

On August 27, 2020, stole bottles of alcohol to the value of £239.50 from Tesco. Given a community order and has to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95.

Leonard Brennan, 32

On March 7, 2021, stole an electric jigsaw, to the value of £80, belonging to B&Q. Committed to prison for two weeks as the offence was aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending. Also has to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £128.

Lisa Fletcher, 38

On October 10, 2020, stole perfume to the value of £175 belonging to Tesco. Committed to prison for 60 days suspended for six months. Also has to pay £175 in compensation and £85 to the CPS.
