A ROW has erupted over the maintenance of a ‘blocked waterway’ in Wraysbury resulting in a formal complaint reportedly being lodged against a councillor.

The ‘shocked’ resident, who did not want to be identified, behind the complaint claims she has officially lodged her grievances against independent Royal Borough councillor Ewan Larcombe (Datchet, Horton, and Wraysbury) for allegedly trespassing on her land.

Cllr Larcombe denied knowledge of any formal complaint and declined to comment on the claims.

The disgruntled woman told the Local Democracy Reporting Service she has submitted a complaint to the Royal Borough council after Cllr Larcombe paid her visit on her private field with a parish councillor on June 17.

She became “worried” when she saw two men near a ditch by her gated land in Wraysbury, fearing they could take her dogs as she uses the land to give them exercise.

The woman said she felt “scared and intimidated” claiming Cllr Larcombe was trespassing on her land .

According to the woman, the Wraysbury representative confronted her on her lack of maintenance of waterworks which is part of her private land – which she denied, saying the waterways flows well and parts are maintained by VolkerHighways.

She later called the police to ‘deescalate the situation’ – but said they didn’t show up as it was a “civil matter”.

Cllr Larcombe said he hasn’t received a code of conduct complaint from the monitoring officer and has denied to comment on the incident.

But he did claim the woman has not kept maintenance of a nearby ditch where it’s “blocked solid”, obstructing water flowing to the Splash in Wraysbury.

The woman refuted this and said the water in the ditch flows fine and is checked by VolkerHighways when they inspect a nearby weir.

A council spokesperson said: “The council does not comment on individual cases.

“Generally, any complaints against councillors are dealt with under the Code of Conduct process. If following an investigation there is a finding of a potential breach, this will be heard by the Member Standards Panel.”
