A man who was caught carrying a fake gun around a Bucks park has been fined.

Jamie Crutcher, 25, appeared at Buckinghamshire Magistrates’ Court on June 1 where he admitted to being in possession of an imitation firearm in public.

The court heard how on August 8, 2018, Crutcher, of Lammas in Milton Keynes, brought an airsoft pistol to Campbell Park in Milton Keynes.

Airsoft guns, similar to BB guns, are designed to look similar to real firearms, but shoot out spherical plastic pellets at high speed.

After pleading guilty to the offence, Crutcher was told to pay £170 costs and was also issued with a community order requiring him to complete a rehabilitation activity requirement.

The court also ordered that the firearm be forfeited and destroyed.
