Large parts of Berkshire are falling behind when it comes to Covid-19 jabs, so we've taken a look at which neighbourhoods have the lowest vaccination rates.

With social distancing now seemingly a thing of the past, the race to get the nation vaccinated appears pivotal in preventing a dreaded return to lockdowns.

Whilst the current rates of infection have some health experts worried, close to nine out of 10 people have now been vaccinated in the UK.

However, in some local areas of Berkshire, these numbers are lagging behind by up to 30%, according to data accessed through the interactive map on the Government's Covid-19 dashboard.

Nationally, as of Thursday (July 29), 88.4% of the UK population have been given at least one Covid-19 vaccine jab, whilst 71.8% have had both doses.

And yet in Reading, just 69.6% of the population have had a Covid-19 vaccine dose, one of the lowest in the county.

Large parts of Slough also report under 70% of people having had at least one jab, and the stats show that the majority of Berkshire has under 80%.

However, the large majority of Bracknell Forest and Windsor and Maidenhead are much further ahead than the other boroughs in Berkshire.

The areas with the most first vaccinations are Windsor and Maidenhead (82.1%), West Berkshire (87%), Wokingham (85.6%) and Bracknell Forest (83.2%, but also has 65.7% of people double vaccinated.
