It’s been a relatively quiet time for planning news in Slough this week.

The biggest news is that a waste management centre in Colnbrook has applied to operate 24/7.

Elsewhere, one applicant in Cippenham has asked to build a rear extension in their garden, and a separate applicant in Baylis & Stoke has applied to build a rear dormer loft extension.

To view more details for each application, go to Slough Borough Council’s planning portal and copy and paste the reference number in brackets.

Here, the applicants at Tanhouse Integrated Waste Treatment Facility have asked the opinion of Slough Borough Council on a series of proposed changes.

These include making the waste management centre operate 24/7, increase the amount of waste processed, and adding an extension to a new building that has already been approved at the site.

To do this, the applicant has asked whether it needs to conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). EIAs are conducted to establish what type of an impact a development will have on its surrounding environment.

The massive waste management centre is located in Lakeside Road, Colnbrook, which accessed from the A4 Colnbrook Bypass.

The owner of 19, Erica Close, Slough, wants to build an extension into their garden.

The plan has already received an objection from a neighbour living in number 17, who’s said the extension would lead to a loss of sunlight.

It is understood the homeowners want to build the extension where they have a roofed outdoors area, which currently has couches, a fridge and a clothes washing line underneath it.

Here, the applicants have applied to build a roof extension to their home at 3a, Waterbeach Road, Slough.

The home is currently a one bedroom terraced house. The loft extension to the rear of the home would provide an extra bedroom.

The roof extension, defined as a rear dormer, would have a side window for the new occupant and one front facing rooflight for security.

The applicant is seeking a lawful development certificate from the council to build the loft conversion.
