Bosses have said they hope Slough's new Lidl supermarket will be fully operational by December this year.

Plans have been submitted to build the new supermarket in a vacant unit in Slough retail park in Cippenham.

The German retail giant has been eyeing to take up a place between ScS and Smyths Toy Store, which was formerly occupied by Harveys who went into administration in June 2020.

Fire investigators give update into fatal Taplow crash

Bucks Fire and Rescue have provided further details about a tragic crash that sadly killed three men in Taplow.

The crash happened on Wednesday at around 9.50pm when a red BMW 1 Series was travelling along Bath Road when it crashed into the bridge near the Shell Service Station.

Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Armed police in Manor Park, Slough after man made threats to kill

Police have finally released information about an incident in Slough where armed police were spotted in Manor Park two weeks ago.

A large police presence was seen on Sunday, August 8, at about 6.25pm in Salisbury Avenue, Slough.

Police said they received reports of a concern for safety.

Spiritual healer with 'abilities' jailed after sexually assaulting 'vulnerable' women

A spiritual healer who had a “sincere belief” in his abilities has been jailed for more than two years after inappropriately touching women he claimed he was helping.

Derek Thurlbeck, of The Pastures, High Wycombe, went to the homes of four separate women and touched their genitals over their clothes while carrying out his practices.

Described by a ‘master manipulator’, he told one woman she was ‘cursed’ in a bid to convince her to get healed.

Key Slough Council boss set to leave for new post in Scotland

A key figure in Slough’s major regeneration projects is set to bow out after taking a new post in Scotland.

In a message seen by the Local Democracy Reporting Service, executive director Stephen Gibson announced he will be leaving the council to take up a new post at Glasgow City Council.
