Slough Council cannot take part in £8.6b scheme to build more affordable homes

Slough Borough Council (SBC) has confirmed it cannot take part in a government £8.6 billion scheme to build more affordable homes in the area.

Last week, the Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government announced a new funding package for nearly 90 partnerships, including housing associations, private providers, and local authorities, to bid for.

This cash injection will make owning a home more “realistic and affordable” and help families get on the property ladder.

Person rushed to hospital after crash in Slough

A person was rushed to hospital following a crash earlier this week.

Emergency services responded to a crash in Slough at the Ledgers Road junction with Chalvey Road West.

South Central Ambulance Service treated a patient at the scene.

Dealer caught hiding class-A drugs in Kinder Egg containers in underwear

A man has been jailed after being caught with class A drugs at Slough rail station -- with officers finding diamorphine in a Kinder Egg container in his pants!

Jermaine Duhaney, of Mildenhall Road, Slough, was caught out at the station on Friday, April 24, 2020 -- one month after lockdown was imposed in England.

Man caught carrying knife between two Slough schools

A man who carried a gutting knife in Slough has been fined following a court appearance.

Graham Johnston, of Orchard Way, Dalston, was caught carrying the blade in Slough on August 13, 2020.

He was charged because he was carrying the dagger in a public place, namely Thirlmere Avenue, which is in between two schools near Cippenham.

 

Slough man jailed for racially abusing police officers

A Slough man with different names has been jailed for months after committing a range of offences including racially abusing police officers.

Scott Robertson, who also goes by the name of ‘Stephen Ball’, racially harassed two officers in Slough on September 4, 2020.

The 37-year-old also racially abused another person in Slough on May 8, 2020.
