DOG friendly pubs across Windsor, Maidenhead and Slough have gone the extra mile to ensure pooches feel welcome inside.

A number of pubs across the Royal Borough and Slough have been listed in the Dog-friendly Pub Awards for catering for four-legged friends.

These pub have been celebrated for its welcoming approach to owners and their dogs, and amenities such as treats on the bar, doggy roast dinners and quiet areas.

Here are the dog friendly pubs you can visit with your pooch this weekend.

The Fox and Castle, Old Windsor

This gorgeous 16th century traditional pub proudly displays a 'dog friendly' sign outside.

They are also keen supporters of the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home at Old Windsor.

Dog treats are also available at the bar for free and dogs must be kept on leads at all times.

The Blackwood Arms

Slough Observer:

This traditional country pub is dog, family and horse-friendly - providing hay nets for ponies to munch on.

You will be provided with fresh water for your dog and you almost feel out of place if you don't have a dog, according to reviews online.

Fifield Inn Pub

Nestled in the Berkshire countryside, The Fifield Inn is a hidden treasure.

It is located in the village of Fifield, close to Bray and just 10 minutes from busy Windsor. It is surrounded by fields where the pub benefits from a quiet setting with a large garden for the summer months.

It is known as the best pub to relax with your pooch.

The Golden Ball, Maidenhead

The Golden Ball will always accommodate guests with dogs and provide treats and water bowls at the ready.

They even have a dog menu so your pooch can enjoy a meal whilst your tucking into yours.

The Shire Horse, Maidenhead

This pub is very dog friendly, serving doggy ice cream and water bowls inside and out.

There's plenty of seating inside and in the restaurant area too. The servers will also make an effort to get to know your dog and remember their name!

The Stag, Slough

This is also a dog friendly pub where staff once provided a pooch with a carrot after being given a special order by the customer.

The pub itself has a lovely atmosphere inside, providing good home comforting food.

The Crown Inn, Slough
