MORE than 1000 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Berkshire throughout Sunday.

Public Health England has recorded 1031 new lab-confirmed cases in 24 hours yesterday, Sunday, October 18, in areas including Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham, West Berkshire, Slough and Windsor and Maidenhead.

Theses figures, correct as of Sunday, october 17, at 4pm, bring the latest total for the county to 105,331.

The local breakdown is as follows:

Bracknell Forest - 75 cases, 13,623 total

Wokingham - 249 cases, 17,652 total

Reading - 175 cases, 20,429 total

West Berkshire - 296 cases, 14,015 total

Windsor and Maidenhead - 124 cases, 16,728 total

Slough - 112 cases, 22,884 total

A total of 8,449,165 people in the UK have tested positive for Covid-19.

The latest seven-day rate per 100,000 people locally are as follows:

Bracknell Forest - 409.9

Wokingham - 574.9

In total, 94,756,683 vaccinations have been given across the UK.

A total of 1,313,701 vaccination have been given out across Berkshire.

In today's national Covid news:

The Government said a further 57 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 138,584.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 163,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 45,140 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.
