MAIDENHEAD Olympic hero Tom Dean appeared on BBC's Question of Sport.

The double-gold champion formed part of Team Captain Ugo Monye and rugby legend Maggie Alphonsi.

Question of Sport follows on from Sue Barker’s departure in May this year with Paddy McGuinness hosting the show.

On Friday's episode (October 22) Tom Dean managed to guess the correct name of swimmer Kyle Chalmers and Emily Campbell.

His captain Ugo then had to stand on the map of the correct location where you would find the pool in which Adam Peaty broke the 100-metre breaststroke world record.

Tom was quick to help Ugo with the fact he broke it in 2015 in London then suggested that he may have broken it in Glasgow.

However, it was the wrong answer.

His auntie Carole Hughes watched the show unfold and said "he couldn't believe he got the Peaty question wrong".

She said: "It's hard when you're a guest as generally you only know your own sport but he did well. He can't believe he got the Peaty question wrong!"

However it was smiles all round as his team won by 21 points.

In June, Tom Dean became the first British male swimmer in 113 years to win two golds at a single Olympic Games after he and his teammates triumphed in the 4x200m freestyle relay in Tokyo.

The 21-year-old from Maidenhead, along with James Guy, 25, Matthew Richards, 18, and Duncan Scott, 24, clocked a time of six minutes and 58.58 seconds – 0.03 seconds off a world record time.
