A SLOUGH son has been left heartbroken after his mum's gravestone was burned down.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, spoke to the Slough Observer wanting answers as to why "anyone would want to burn" his mother's grave.

The gravestone in Slough Cemetery was burned down earlier this week with police launching an investigation on the suspected arson attack.

An 18-year-old man from Slough was arrested on suspicion of arson and remains in custody at this time.

He said: "Mum's grave has been completely destroyed. This is the third attack in three weeks.

"The flowers on a grave behind mums was also burnt down. My mum's grave is completely made out of wood, the plaque and the floral arrangement with the letters 'mum' was burnt in the fire.

"Me and my family are devastated and stressed out. We don't understand why and I just want justice and for whoever is responsible to answer for this. We want to know why."

The Slough resident said his mum passed away two years ago, describing her as a "peaceful woman who never hurt anyone."

He said: "My mum was a peaceful woman who never hurt anyone. She was loved by everyone who knew her. Our family have no grievances with anyone. We don't know why this happened."
