A MAN nicked for carrying a knife has been told he will not have to do unpaid work as sick notes proved he was too unwell.
Paul Russell, of St Georges Crescent, was caught carrying a knife in Iver, Bucks in January of this year.
He was given a community order for the offence.

Part of this sentence involved the requirement to carry out unpaid work.
It is not clear how many hours Russell was required to carry out.
However, the 24-year-old had this requirement revoked after submitting an application to Berkshire Magistrates’ Court.

This application was revoked on the basis Russell was unable to undertake unpaid work due to medical reasons verified by sick notes.
At a hearing on Monday, November 1, the Slough man was instead told to pay £150 for the January knife offence.
