A SLOUGH man has been fined for using a fake £50 banknote.
David Mongan, of Hungerford Avenue, was convicted of using the fake £50 Irish banknote in Worcester in January 2020.
A court file read: “[The defendant] passed as genuine a thing which was and which you knew or believed to be a counterfeit currency note, namely a £50 Irish Banknote.”

Appearing at Reading Magistrates’ Court last week, the 18-year-old was fined £100 for the offence.
He was also made to pay a £22 victim surcharge.
Mongan appeared for his hearing on Wednesday, November 3.
