A man accused of the murder of Shani Warren 34 years ago has refused to attend court.
Donald Robertson, aged 66, was charged with the historic murder on Friday 26 November and was due to appear in Reading Crown Court on Monday.
However, Robertson declined to leave his cell at Littlehey Prison in Cambridgeshire for the hearing, judge Heather Norton told the court.
The 66-year-old, formerly of Slough, is charged with five offences, including the murder of 26-year-old Ms Warren, whose body was discovered in the water in Taplow Lake in April 1987.
He is further charged with indecent assault and unlawful imprisonment involving the same woman.
Robertson is also charged with the kidnap and rape of a 16-year-old girl in Slough in July 1981. She cannot be named for legal reasons.
No pleas were entered during the 35-minute hearing.
The suspect was further remanded in custody for a plea hearing on March 11 next year.
A provisional trial was listed for April 26, lasting up to four weeks, held in front of a High Court judge.
