Black Park Country Park, Slough

Black Park Country Park covers over 500 acres of woodland and open space. With family friendly attractions, including an adventure playground and GoApe, miles of woodland trails, and opportunities for wildlife spotting, the park offers something for everyone to enjoy.

Windsor Great Park, Windsor

Covering over 4,800 acres, Windsor Great Park has part which are open to the public. The park’s facilities includes a café, food shop, outdoor eating areas and a restaurant (at The Savill Garden Kitchen). Listed on Tripadvisor in the top five things to do in Windsor parks, one reviewer has described it as “absolutely stunning”. Explaining they had a lovely relaxing walk, they added “The sculptures were amazing and the trees are beautiful”.

Boulter’s Lock and Ray Mill Island, Maidenhead

Rated high on TripAdvisor, Boulters Lock and Ray Mill Island is described as a ‘lovely, tranquil area’. One reviewer on the website said: “It is spacious and calm with the sound of the river and birds tweeting.” The area has plenty of seating, is child-friendly and has a café sercing drinks and ice cream. And a special tree was planted to support the SANDS (Stillborn and Neonatal Death Charity).

Alexandra Gardens, Windsor

A beautiful public garden near the River Thames, Windsor, with seating, a bandstand and lots of spots to have a picnics. With a mini golf at the far end, this park features the Jubilee Fountain, which was erected for the Queen's Jubilee. Tripadvisor reviews said it's a nice place to explore with backdrops of the famous Round Tower and St George's Chapel, inside the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Herschel Park, Slough

Located close to the town centre, Herschel Park is a smaller toddler-friendly park with a lake in the middle and a nature reserve at the back. There are entrances from Upton Close, Upton Road or Datchet Road through the nature reserve. And there’s a free small car park off Datchet Road (SL3 7NR).
