A 26-year-old Slough man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was found stabbed in Slough park yesterday (Monday).

Police were called to Baylis Park at 1pm to find a man with a stab wound to the chest and 'significant injuries' to his face and head.

The man, in his thirties, was rushed to hospital, where he is in a stable condition.

A 23-year-old man from Amersham has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Both men arrested remain in custody.

It is believed the offender may have left the scene towards Aylesbury Avenue.

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Emily Evans based at Slough police station, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information about what happened to please come forward.

“I’d also ask any motorists who were around Baylis Park to check any dash-cam footage in case it may have captured anything that could assist the investigation.

She continued: “A scene-watch is in place in Baylis Park, and there will be a visible and increased police presence in the area while this investigation continues.

“Understandably, this incident will cause concern in the local community, however we are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of this assault.

“If anybody has any concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to one of our officers.”
