A man has been fined more than £100 after breaking lockdown rules in Windsor.

With Omicron fears and Covid-19 cases continuing to rise at an 'exponential' rate, new restrictions on face masks have been introduced, and potential rules on working from home have also been touted.

Daily new cases are rising at a crippling rate with 1,981 confirmed cases in Berkshire recorded on December 29.

As the risk of infection grows again, it makes it even more crucial for the public to follow the rules and keep the community safe.

Louis Christie from London appeared in Reading Magistrates Court for breaching the Tier 4 lockdown rules at the start of 2021.

The 35-year-old man from Cedars Road, Lambeth, was fined £150 and ordered to pay £85 in costs after he breached the Tier 4 lockdown restrictions.

On January 17, Christie left his home address to visit Windsor– breaching the lockdown rules.

Christie was found guilty to the offence on December 17.

He has been ordered to pay £269 in total by December 30.
