A pub in Blackburn is to undergo a £200,000 refurbishment as it is taken over by the Stonegate Group’s Craft Union Pub Company.

The Brown Cow on Livesey Branch Road is set to reopen in spring with more details to emerge closer to the time.

A spokesperson for Craft Union Pub Company said they are currently looking for a business partner to manage the pub.

They said: “We have recently taken over The Brown Cow in Livesey.

“The pub is currently closed and is undergoing a refurbishment, which is a £200,000 investment.

“We are also recruiting for new business partners to manage the pub and we are looking to reopen early spring.”

Questions began to surface earlier this week when locals spotted the building being renovated.

Richey Pull took a picture on his way home from work on Wednesday night (12 January) and said: “The Brown Cow in Livesey looks like it's being gutted (renovated). The skip was full.”

Ben Jordan and his partner Robyn Laxton took over the Brown Cow at the end of 2020.
