Coronavirus infection rates are starting to drop in all boroughs of the Royal County.

But the rates still remain higher than the national average, figures have revealed.

Kennet Island & Green Park now has the highest coronavirus infection rate in the county, replacing Owlsmoor & Broadmoor, with 1,658.7 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending January 12.

The lowest infection rate is in Kintbury & Boxford, where the rate is 593.0 cases per 100,000 people.

In Berkshire as a whole, the infection rate is now 1,493 cases per 100,000 population.

The infection rate in the region is higher than the national average, which is 893.2 cases per 100,000 people.

A total of 203,596 people tested positive for coronavirus across Berkshire as of January 16.

The infection rate is higher than the national average in five areas of Berkshire. It is lower than the national average in one area.
