A NOVELIST from Windsor has been shortlisted for an award for her romantic fiction book.
Kathryn Freeman, is a contender in the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s annual Romantic Novel Awards for 2022.
And she’s been shortlisted in the Jane Wenham-Jones Award for Romantic Comedy category with her novel, Mr Right Across the Street.
The awards celebrate excellence in romantic fiction in all its forms.
Ms Freeman said: “I want to say something clever, but all I can think is - wow.
“And maybe a bit of 'I hope they didn't get me mixed up with someone else!' I'm honoured, excited and immensely proud to be shortlisted.”
Kathryn always wanted to write a book but life took her in different direction and she became a pharmacist.
With a husband who asks every Valentine's Day whether he must buy a card, all the romance in her life is in her head.
Sharon Ibbotson, the awards coordinator for the Romantic Novelists’ Association, said: “During a difficult year, people needed escapism and romance more than ever.
“Our shortlisted authors, chosen by our readers, delivered both and the Romantic Novelists’ Association is proud to celebrate them and their achievement.”
Other award categories include the Fantasy Romantic Novel Award, the Jackie Collins Award for Romantic Thrillers, the Katie Fforde Debut Romantic Novel Award and many more.
