A SLOUGH man who told a woman he would burn her mother’s house down has been locked up.

Neil Lambert, of no fixed abode, was sentenced for threats to destroy property and harassment at the start of the month.

On August 9, 2021, the 59-year-old told a woman he would ‘burn her mum’s house down’, ‘intending that she would fear the threat would be carried out’, a court file indicated.

And between August 11 and December 6, 2021, Lambert pursued a course of conduct which amounted to harassment of the same woman.

He did this by sending her threatening messages, following her and approaching her.

Despite initially denying the charges, Lambert admitted to the offences at a court hearing on January 12, 2022.

Appearing at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 2, the defendant was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison as he ‘cannot be managed in the community’.

A restraining order was made barring him from making contact with the victim and forbidding him from going to Westgate School in Cippenham.

He was also ordered to pay £128 in a victim surcharge.
