A THIEVING motorist drove 60mph above the speed limit after stealing a car in the early hours of the morning.
Glyes Wenman, of Harvers Lane, Aldershot, will be released from prison in three months but will not be allowed behind the wheel again for another five years following a sentencing.
The 45-year-old stole a Volkswagen Amarok from a Maidenhead home at 1.55am on October 16, 2021.

The movement of the car triggered a notification on the owner’s phone, who informed the police the vehicle had been stolen.
This caused police to pursue Wenman in the stolen vehicle where they caught up with him at Maidenhead Business Park.
Here, the Aldershot man reversed into the chasing police car before ploughing through a barrier at the site.
He then exited and moved onto a 40mph road where he clocked up a 100mph speed.
Wenman then drove the wrong way up an exit slip at the A404 junction.

He eventually lost control of the vehicle and exited with his hands up before being arrested.
Nick Saunders, prosecuting, said Wenman had 23 convictions for 44 offences including two driving offences in 1994 and 1997.
Rosanna Martin, defending, said it was not Wenman’s intention to reverse into the police car or damage the business park’s barriers as he ‘panicked’ at the time of the incident.
She also claimed Wenman was driving at a limited speed for the majority of the time he was in the car.
But His Honour Judge Burgess told Wenman “this was a serious example of dangerous driving.”

Wenman, who has already served four months in custody since his arrest in October 2021, was handed a 21-month prison sentence.
But because of the time he has already spent behind bars and as he will only serve hald of his sentence in custody, he is expected to be released after three months.
However, Wenman was banned from driving for five years after his release.
He was sentenced for aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without a licence at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, February 15.
