A FESTIVAL celebrating all there is to love about Slough is set to take place this March.

LOVE Slough, set up by creative arts programme HOME Slough, will showcase a range of arts forms to honour living and working in Slough.

Organisations, community groups and artists will work together to deliver a mix of events, workshops and happenings around the town.

And the project features a range of artforms including knitting, drumming, spoken word, dancing and more.

Jake Orr, creative producer of HOME Slough, said: “LOVE Slough is a real celebration of the town.

“We’re delighted to be bringing together so many exciting events as part of the Festival and to be working with so many talented local people.

“It will be a fitting end to this phase of our work.”

Starting on March 8, the festival is set to run for three weeks.

And it will be made up of over 20 different events which includes:

Hi-Vis, which is a traveling sound installation brings declarations of love to all corners of the town. 

Pioneering Town Festival, which celebrates Slough as a place of innovation – past, present and future. 

Herschel Remixed is a performance by the Dionysus Ensemble, local musicians and schoolchildren of William Herschel’s unrecorded and reimagined music. 

Love Slough Fine Arts Festival asks artists respond to theme of “Love Slough”. 

The Dance WE Made by Casson and Friends invites the public to choreograph on professional dancers to create a unique new dance piece. 

Happy Space sees a day of activities and performances to lift the spirits and make everyone smile on World Happiness Day. 

Grove Park Camp at the Curve Gallery will explore the history of the Grove Park Camp where displaced Polish soldiers and their families were resettled after World War 2. 

Drumming Extravaganza will create a drum piece that will then be paraded through the heart of Slough in partnership with Slough Music Service.
