CONCERNS have been raised around the safety of an outdoor play area in Windsor.
A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, has described Clewer Recreation Ground as “an accident waiting to happen” as he voices his worry for children’s safety.
He explained one of the main issues is the roundabout in the park.
He said: “The rubber matting is raised up around the roundabout and toddlers could easily trip up when playing in this area and with the recent rain that’s making it more dangerous for users.
“I’ve been monitoring the park for about two months now and there is a lack of maintenance being done.”
The playground has been inspected and repaired since.
Although, the resident believes contractor Tivoli should be maintaining it daily.
He added: “Tivoli is either not undertaking this work or doing a very poor job with it.
“Tivoli staff, within the contract, are supposed to make safe any dangerous issue they find when undertaking maintenance and inspection daily, but are clearly failing to do so.”
Councillor Amy Tisi, Lib Dem councillor for Clewer East, also shared her thoughts.
She said: "I regularly report faults and issues for repair at the park and find that they often take a long time for the council to action.
"The roundabout was broken for almost a year despite reports from me and a resident.
Cllr Tisi added she is often told the parts take a long time to arrive as they come from Europe.
"I’m still waiting on a swing that was reported months ago," she said.
"The Pirate Park is one of the most popular parks in Windsor but it needs significant ongoing investment by the council to keep it safe and fun for families."

A council spokesperson said: “Our play areas are inspected regularly, and our contractor Tivoli is carrying these out as expected.
“Officers have visited the recreation ground today and have made safe the rubber matting around the mini roundabout.
“We have asked playground equipment manufacturer HAGS, who carry out detailed monthly play area inspections, to look at replacing the matting with a solid buffer mat to prevent the surface lifting in future.”
