A drink driver caught driving without insurance in Slough has admitted to stealing a £2,500 cattle trailer from a Bucks farm.

Magistrates found that Edward Conory, of the caravan park in Oxford Road, Gerrards Cross, had “flagrant disregard for people and their property” after he was caught stealing the trailer from Red Barn Farm in Amersham Road, Coleshill.

Conory was locked up for 26 weeks after he admitted to the theft on October 26, 2021, on top of a slew of other offences at a hearing at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on February 8.

At the same hearing, Conory admitted to five other offences in Slough and Bucks, including drink driving and failing to surrender to custody, ranging from April 2020 to February 2022.

Earlier this month, on February 7, 2022, Conory was caught driving while disqualified and driving without insurance in Northborough Road, Slough.

The court also heard how on April 13, 2020, Conory was caught drink driving and driving while disqualified in Milton Keynes.

On August 24, 2020, Conory failed to surrender to custody when he did not turn up for a hearing at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court.

For all of the offences, Conory was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison. The magistrates found that his offending was aggravated by his “flagrant disregard” for court orders and for other people and their property.

His past criminal record was another reason they decided to send him straight to jail, rather than let him off with a lesser sentence.

On top of the jail term, Conory has also been banned from driving for three years and ordered to pay £85 costs.
