School plans to build a new sixth form building at public open space junction of Imperial Road and Longbourn and Windsor Girls' School, Imperial Road, Windsor (22/00514/FULL).

Windsor Girls’ School, which is an upper school for girls aged 13–18, has introduced an extended its post-16 curriculum and has meant that the sixth form has begun to outgrow its current space.

At present, there is a sixth form study area for private study which is integrated within the rest of the school.

A new two-storey sixth form building with six classrooms, two offices, a meeting room, a breakout space, and toilet facilities is proposed on the grassed area of land adjacent to the school.

In addition, the school expansion requires additional formalised sports facilities and minor internal reconfiguration to deliver the required accommodation. A new all-weather pitch is proposed on the fenced land to the north of the school, across the Longbourn road, and a new MUGA is proposed to the west of the existing all-weather pitch.

The new all-weather pitch will be marked out for mini hockey and three five-a-side football areas, while the new MUGA will have markings for two netball courts and two tennis courts. The internal reconfiguration will create enlarged classrooms and provide a new circulation route to link these spaces within the existing building to the new sixth form building.

College has plans approved to reduce its parking provision at East Berkshire College, Station Road, Langley, Slough (P/04239/053).

Following a study of its parking requirements, East Berkshire College is looking to reduce its parking spaces from 342 to 264 bays.

The study found the college is significantly over providing car parking spaces as staff and student travel behaviour has changed from 2020.

As part of the rationalisation, the College is also seeking to alter the eastern access on Langley Road on the southern boundary to allow two-way access and egress. It is currently exit only.
