1. Prince Charles and Camilla attend Maundy service at Windsor Castle

PRINCE Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall stepped in for The Queen at the Royal Maundy service in Windsor.

The annual event, which hasn’t gone ahead since 2019, took place at St George’s Chapel, at Windsor Castle, on Thursday, April 14.

The Queen, who hasn’t missed a ceremony since 1970, was unable to attend and asked the heir to the throne to go in her place.

The service marks Maundy Thursday, which commemorates Jesus washing the feet of the apostles at the Last Supper.

2. Slough ranked one of the worst places for a night out in the UK

SLOUGH has been named the second worst place for a night out, according to a recent study.

Research by Get Licensed looked at the number of venues per head, the cost of a pint and a range of safety issues.

And Slough sits just below Coventry on the list, which was crowned the worst place for a night out in the UK.

3. Heathrow Airport speaks out against parking chaos on nearby roads

HEATHROW Airport has spoken out after reports of car parking companies dumping customers cars on nearby roads.

According to residents and businesses, this problem has been ongoing for a while, and it’s recently got worse over the Easter period.

The companies are said to be leaving people’s cars around Langley and Colnbrook without customers knowing.

Heathrow has received comments from residents on this issue.

A Heathrow spokesperson said: “No one arriving at Heathrow should be parking in residential streets.

“There are ample public transport options and official parking can be found on our website and we do not endorse unofficial parking operators.

4. "It was like picking up our own family": Local actress Millie Anna welcomes Ukrainian to Windsor

A FAMILY in Windsor has welcomed a Ukrainian woman with open arms after they took her into their home.

Aspiring actress and model Millie Anna and her parents, Jeff and Nikki Prelogar, greeted Tetiana Kova at the airport on Sunday, April 10 after she fled the war.

The family-of-three decided to apply for the Homes for Ukraine scheme because they had the space.

Jeff said: “We’ve got a whole culture of people who have been besieged with war, they didn’t ask for it, their lives are completely in turmoil.

“We were just sitting in bed one day watching the news and just looked at each other and thought we’ve got the space to do it, we don’t have any Ukrainian family but we wanted to help relieve the pressure.”

5. Police urge witnesses to come forward as motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in crash

A motorcyclist has suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash involving a taxi in Taplow, police have said - as they urge witnesses to come forward. 

A man in his twenties, who was on the Yamaha motorbike, was rushed to the John Radcliffe Hospital with life-threatening injuries following the crash, which happened at around 8pm on Wednesday night.
