A WINDSOR man said it was “absolutely disgusting” when human waste was dropped from a plane and splattered all over his garden.

The resident, who lives on Arthur Road, said his family were playing outside when the sewage reportedly fell out of a plane on Sunday, May 8.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “My kids and their friends were out in the garden at around 12.40pm when my child suddenly came in crying.

“I went outside and saw loads of drops around the garden which we thought it could have been bird mess to start with but the smell was so strong we knew it was definitely human waste, it was unbelievable.”

The resident added there were splatter marks all over his garden.

“The way it fell directly down you could tell the only place it could have come from was the sky,” he said.

“It’s absolutely disgusting, the foulness is just unreal,” he said.

“A lot of liquid came down too, it was all wet and it sprayed everywhere so we had to put all of the kids clothes in the washing machine straight away.

“I haven’t cleared up the mess yet as I didn’t know what the process would be.”

The resident added: “It’s really affected our garden, the smell coming from it is so bad.”

Councillor Karen Davies (Clewer East), who dealt with a similar incident at the Aviation forum in October 2021, said: “This is the second time this has happened in the space of a year and it’s really alarming.

“It’s very unpleasant and unsanitary, we have a lot of trust in all these planes flying over our houses each day and something like this is quite worrying.”

Cllr Davies said she’d like to know what action Civil Aviation Authority will take to ensure this doesn't happen again.

The resident also got in touch with councillor John Bowden (Eton & Castle ward) who said he used an mobile phone app to identify the possible aircraft.

Cllr Bowden said: “Aircraft were landing over Windsor town at the time, and the outside temperature was warm, which does melt any ice on the aircraft’s fuselage. "

A spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority said: “We are aware of this incident and have advised the resident to report the matter to Heathrow Airport so that they can launch an investigation.

“Fortunately, incidents such as this are very rare.”
