A volunteer at Slough’s Salt Hill Vaccination Centre has been awarded a prestigious Platinum Champion Award.

David Gregory has been volunteering with the NHS Ambulance frontline and St John’s Ambulance, amongst other causes, for more than 17 years and was recognised for his service over the Jubilee weekend.

Slough Observer:

During the Covid-19 Pandemic, David helped organise medicine deliveries for shielding residents across two rural villages and provided a local helpline, liaising with other voluntary groups, to ensure people’s needs were met whilst shielding.

The award was given out to more than 70 chosen winners in a special garden party hosted by The Royal Voluntary Service on Sunday, June 5, with HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall in attendance.

As well as the certificate, they were all given VIP seats for the Saturday Evening “Party at the Palace” as well as the opportunity to meet the Royal Couple for a special lunch.
