Two Slough people are among those who have been charged with the murder of a father-of-one whose remains were found in an isolated Bucks woodland.

Mohammed Shah Subhani, known as Shah, was reported missing on May 7, 2019 when he failed to return to his home in Hounslow, west London.

The 27-year-old’s remains were found in woodland next to the M40 in Hedgerley on December 19, 2019.

Shah was due to become a father - but never got the chance to meet his baby girl.

Amraj Poonia, 26, of Farmfield Drive, Horley; Raneel Poonia, 25, of Whitehouse Way, Slough; and Gurditta Singh, 25, of Moreland Avenue, Slough, were charged on Friday with murder and perverting the course of justice, Scotland Yard said.

Speaking when Mr Subhani’s remains were found, his sister Quirat said: “It broke our hearts and shattered our world when we were told Shah’s body was discovered in an abandoned woodland 15 miles from home. This will haunt us for a lifetime.”

His devastated family visited the woodland where his body was found in January 2020 to lay flowers, pray and urge anyone with information to come forward amid what the Met Police said was a "complex" murder investigation.

Shah’s emotional sister Iqra said at the time that visiting the place where his body was found “haunts” them but added: “It makes us feel closer to Shah. We come here and talk to him. It is his last resting place. He didn’t deserve this.

"My family feel broken. My mum and dad have been coping really, really bad. We haven’t been able to sleep."

Police had previously offered a £20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest or conviction in the case.
