TO MARK the start of July there are many exciting events going on in the community this weekend.

If you’re at a loose end and want to enjoy a day out with the family, why not pop along to some of the following things happening in Slough and Windsor.

 

Cippenham Community Carnival

Date: Saturday, July 2

Time: Midday to 4pm

Place: Mercian Way Recreation Ground

Cippenham Community Carnival will featured a variety of entertainment including The Vale Road Band, Leo’s Circus, Michelle B, The Dance Academy, singer Martin Wood, Mellor Performing Arts School, DJ Lee and Dan Pryde.

Rock the Rec

Date: July 2 and July 3

Place: Pirate Park, Windsor

Rock the Rec is Clewer and Dedworth’s very first music festival.

This year’s event aims to supply and fund Christmas lights for the whole of the Dedworth Road and support over local charities and groups who are based in the area.

There will be a fun fair, vegan market, artisan craft stalls, unicorn rides and more.

 

Creative Collective Showcase 2022

Date: Sunday, July 3

Times: 7pm to 9pm

Place: The Curve, Slough

Resource Productions, a company which aims to support and promote non-traditional artists and filmmakers with a career in the creative sector, is holding its annual Creative Collective Showcase 2022 on Sunday, July 3.

This variety show celebrates local artists as well as Berkshire-based faith and arts groups.

Terry Adlam, producing the showcase, said: “I’m very excited about the show as we have a some great creative acts including dance, poetry, singing, arts and photography, spoken word and moving image for all cultures and ages and after two years of it being on line, it’s wonderful to get back into a theatre and entertaining a live audience.”

Admission is free or pay what you can.

Windsor Championship Dog Show

Date: July 2 and July 3

Place: Home Park

Nearly 8000 dogs from all over the UK arrived at Windsor for the very popular Windsor Championship Dog Show.

The event started on June 30, and will run until Sunday, July 3 and is a great day out for dog lovers.

The family-friendly show is useful for those researching the right breed of dog.

Also it’s good for them to see some of the lesser known breeds they may not even have heard of.

Visitors will be able to find out more about dog showing and the various activities they can get involved in with their own dog.

Admission is free and car parking is £10 per car.
