DETAILS have been revealed on a developer’s plan to build 220 homes in Maidenhead.

This is just one of the many applications submitted to the local authorities in Slough, Windsor, and Maidenhead in the past seven days.

Berkeley Homes has requested an environmental impact assessment to determine if the large-scale proposal would have a significant effect on the environment.

The report reveals details of the scheme, which is allocated within the borough’s local plan.

The developer wants to build 220 homes, including 30 per cent affordable homes, on former greenbelt land with open space land and recreational space, landscaping, improved pedestrian and access links, and increase biodiversity.

The proposals will include a new Tiger crossing across Harvest Hill Road in order to reduce the severance resulting from the main east/west route between the A308 Windsor Road and Shoppenhangers Road.

The site within the South West Maidenhead allocation, which includes the Maidenhead golf course, which is earmarked for 2,000 homes.

Approving this does not give Berkeley Homes permission to start developing as a full planning application with more technical documents are yet to be submitted for determination.

Original plans for a hand car wash with canopy and portable cabins were approved in 2010 and expired in 2016.

The current operator, who took over in 2021, has not been aware of the expiry of the previous planning application and therefore wishes to apply the same operations for a limited period of five years.

There has been no change in design and the drainage system with silt trays is in place to collect the before the water is discharged into the main surface water drains.

The site has four parking spaces for customers (including one disabled), three spaces for staff and there are seven parking spaces as overflow.

Slough planning officers are yet to decide on the plans.

Developer seeks permission to restore a historic fountain at Charters, Charters Road, Sunningdale, Ascot (22/01780/LBC).

The grade II listed Dolphin Fountain needs restoring as there is damage in multiple places heads, fins, tails, etc.

The reservoir itself no longer holds water and has subsided on one side believed to be why the other damage has occurred.

Planning officers are yet to decide on the application.
