Throughout the last month the UK has been thrown into a series of heat waves that have caused havoc throughout the country.

Temperatures this week are said to be soaring to a startling 32 degrees making this the second heatwave of the summer.

With threats of a hosepipe ban on the horizon, Berkshire is in need of some serious rain.

Following the end of a heatwave however, the forcasters have reported something a little different to round off a week of sweltering heat.

Alongside the news of red and amber weather warnings, the MET Office has updated us with notice of heavy showers and thunderstorms next week.

This is said to be between next Sunday and Tuesday, although the exact time is yet to be provided.

Weather forecasters have said: "Showers will spread from the west and south next week, sometimes heavy and thundery, though drier periods with sunny spells are still likely between them.

"At the same time, temperatures will gradually decrease to closer to normal for August. Later in the period, the more changeable weather will prevail with a risk of heavy showers or thunderstorms continuing, but clear and dry spells in between too.

“Returning to warm or very warm towards the end of the period for much of England and Wales, perhaps becoming locally hot in parts of the south and southeast."
