A BROWNIE business which was founded at the start of the pandemic is celebrating its recent award win.

Epic Brownies, based in Maidenhead, has been given a Great Taste Award for its Cherry and Amaretto brownies.

The business, which was founded in August 2020, has already received an ‘overwhelming’ amount of support from customers since it opened.

Pam Hilling. founder of Epic Brownies, said: “I opened Epic Brownies in August 2020 after much deliberation.

“I had spent the previous year or two perfecting my brownie recipe as I needed to be 100% confident that any customers that may come my way would be in for the ultimate treat.

Mrs Hilling explained opening the company during lockdown was both nerve wracking but also comforting because it gave her “nothing to lose”.

“People’s reactions to our brownies has been so overwhelming and really heart-warming at times,” she added.

And this isn't the only award Epic Brownies has received since opening.

It was also the Best New Business winner in the Little Ankle Biters Awards, which celebrated the success of many Berkshire businesses.

Mrs Hilling explained she is “truly humbled and elated” to have been awarded a Great Taste Award.

She said: “We didn’t enter our Cherry & Amaretto brownies expecting to win an award on the first attempt but we were cautiously optimistic.

“It’s almost overwhelming to think the Guild Of Fine Food thought our brownies were some of the best in the country.

“It’s been two years since we started and things have taken off more than we even dared to dream.”
