AN ANGRY councillor has hit out as tributes in memory of an 11-year-old girl outside a water park have been removed.
Liquid Leisure in Datchet has been banned from re-opening until it satisfies the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead it has suitable and sufficient risk assessments to prevent or reduce the risk of drowning.
This comes after 11-year-old Kyra Hill from Croydon tragically passed away while at the aqua park on Saturday, August 6. Tributes and flowers were laid outside Liquid Leisure the next day.

But just over a week after the tragic incident, the flowers have been removed from the premises. It is unknown who removed the tributes and the reason why.
Datchet councillor Ewan Larcombe said it was “inappropriate” and “disrespectful” for the flowers and tributes to be taken away so soon. He said he noticed they were missing on Monday, August 15, just over a week since the tragic incident.
He said: “It’s indecent taste. I would normally expect to see the flowers and tributes to sit there for weeks as you see with roadside deaths.”

Thames Valley Police confirmed they did not ask or order for the flowers to be removed and its only involvement in the case now is to prepare a file for the coroner. The council said it did not request the removal.
