Slough boxer John Brennan aims to win '[a] decent title and some plaudits' after switching management company.

The 37-year-old has enjoyed a varied career, including two bouts for the Southern Area Super Welterweight title.

He has also gone out to Tanzania to fight during the Covid-19 pandemic, putting the hard yards in during his long career.

Last time out Brennan came unstuck against unbeaten Liverpool prospect Jack McGann, who stopped the Berkshire boxer in the fourth round of their contest.

Racking up a record of 13-7-2 in his 12 year career, Brennan said it was the right time to freshen things up by signing with Neilson Boxing.

Upon signing, he explained: "I’d made my bones in boxing, I’ve had my tests and I feel like I’ve given a lot to the sport and not had much back.

“They want to help me get to my end goal which is come away with a decent title and some plaudits to look back on when it is all said and done.”

Brennan is now back in training preparing for his 23rd, where he takes on Hrvoje Grcic at York Hall in London on Saturday 9th September.

Following that contest, Brennan will have a short break before fighting again on Saturday 15th October, where his opponent is yet to be assigned.

Promoter, Mark Neilson says: “We are delighted to have John join us for the final stages of his career.

“John is a great guy to work with and seems really determined to leave his mark on the sport while he’s still got the chance."
