McDonald's has announced the reopening of its refurbished Slough Prince of Wales restaurant.

Set to open it's doors this week, the refurbishment will boast a new design with the aim of delivering 'a better customer experience for all'.

The restaurant, on Windsor Road, is one of the first McDonald's to receive the 'Convenience of the Future' refurbishment.

Focused around the need for greater speed, efficiency and choice when ordering food, the redesign will aim to 'create a more seamless and enjoyable experience for customers'.

The store will also feature a designated 'McDelivery only' area where delivery drivers can go in and out of a dedicated courier entrance.

McDonald’s franchisee Richard Forte, who owns and operates the restaurant, said: "The new refurbishment is incredibly exciting for us and we’re looking forward to bringing the customers in Slough a more efficient restaurant experience and a brand-new space for customers to enjoy.

"We look forward to providing improved working conditions for our staff and welcoming our new and existing local customers to the restaurant.”

The traditional walk-in and drive-thru experience will still remain core to how customers order.

However, the redesigned kitchens and dining areas with integrated digital sales channels and the McDonald's App will 'enhance the dine in experience'.

The branch will now have dedicated areas for the different ways to order and a modernised drive-thru system with the addition of an option to Click & Collect to a bay.

McDonald’s UK&I COO Gareth Pearson said: “The pace of change within the restaurant industry is relentless, and the pandemic accelerated this with digital adoption gathering greater pace.

"Our customers rightly expect to have choice in how and where they order and collect their food, and our job is to ensure that every experience is a great one."

In 2022, McDonald’s plans to introduce Convenience of the Future upgrades in 200 restaurants, with 800 planned over the next four years.
