Pub staff in Windsor have gone bald for charity to raise money for cancer support.

The Corner House Pub in Windsor took part in 'brave the shave' as part of a charity fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support on Monday, November 7.

With an original target of £1500, the staff set out fundraising thresholds as to when members would undergo the trim.

Slough Observer:

The stakes were high and anyone not wishing to go through with their shaving pledge would have to match the total raised to secure their 'immunity from baldness'.

Just days before the end of the fundraiser a massive £3400 was donated, shocking the group.

Jake Reilly, fourth in line for the shave said: "I was looking forward to not going bald. Then it went mental.

"It had gone up by about £2000 in an hour.

"We were well over the target. I didn't expect we would get that much."

As a result all six male staff members were to undergo the trim.

"It was a great success, we all have quite cold heads now."

Around 30 to 40 people watched the shave in person, following a Macmillan coffee morning held at the pub.

"It was a good laugh, but some quite nervous faces just before we started," Jake added.

When asked why the group chose Macmillan, Jake said: "Everyone knows someone who has suffered from cancer or needs help with treatments and Macmillan is the best charity that provides support."

The group have called out for one last push to reach their new goal of £5,000.

As of this article, the group have raised £4599, beating their original goal by 304 per cent.
