Three local schools have taken part in a Dragons' Den pitch where winners won money to donate to a local cause.
Pupils who attended the Thames Valley Learning Partnership (TVLP) Student Leadership Conference were tasked with thinking about how they would spend £100 on a local environmental, social and/or economic issue.
Participating schools included Lynch Hill Enterprise Academy in Slough, The Windsor Boys’ School, and Eton College.
A winning pitch was made by a group comprised of Tanaya from Lynch Hill Enterprise Academy, Theo from The Windsor Boys' School and Sonny from Eton College.
The team's pitch discussed how they would help the Windsor Homeless Project by using the £100 to purchase items from their Amazon Wishlist.
On December 2, 2022, the trio used the list to buy items before delivering food and drink to the Windsor Homelessness Project.
The students learned about the great work the local charity does as demand begins to peak in line with the weather getting colder.
Students were told that donations of essential items like tea, coffee and biscuits were regularly needed.
TVLP Coordinator Clare Matheson said: “Raising awareness of the excellent work charities and nonprofit organisations like the Windsor Homelessness Project do in the local area is a great way of encouraging more students across local schools to get involved in these, either through donations of goods, services or their time, or through fundraising.
"It’s great to see students like Sonny, Tanaya and Theo leading on this and helping in this way.”
