“Life is sometimes very cruel and this is an occasion when a thoughtless, spineless individual has caused needless grief and pain to many people.”

These are the words of a family who lost their loved one, David Greenleaf, in a tragic road traffic collision on September 22, 2021.

The tribute was released following the sentencing of a 47 year-old man, who pleaded guilty for causing death by dangerous driving whilst over the prescribed amount of alcohol.

Greenleaf suffered fatal injuries after being knocked off his motorcycle on Henley Road, Maidenhead.

A tribute has been released by the family of the ‘hardworking and caring individual' who was taken too soon.

They said: “David is sadly missed by all his family, friends and the local community in general.

“David was a hard-working caring individual who served his community as a postman for over 30 years.

“He cared for and loved his daughter Helen and grandchildren.

“His past time passion was Watford FC who he followed home and away for the majority of his life.

“David was taken from us all far too early.

“No one and certainly no sentence can bring David back.

“I and all his family would like to thank Thames Valley and Hampshire police for their professionalism and perseverance in bringing this individual to justice.

“RIP David.”
