A dog at Battersea is being dubbed "prince charming" as he searches for his true love this Valentine's Day.

Four-year-old Lurcher Prince currently calls Battersea Old Windsor his home, with staff besotted with him.

Described as a "sweet-natured", "handsome" dog, Prince can be playful and loves to spend his days playing throw and pounce games with fluffy toys.

Prince has so far been unlucky in love, having now spent over 150 days in Battersea's care.

Team Leader at Battersea and Prince’s Foster Carer, Zenya Green said: “Valentine’s Day is a time to show those who are special to you that you care about them, but Prince is still searching for the right person to sweep him off his feet.

"Thankfully, Battersea’s dedicated staff have been on hand to give him the love and royal treatment he deserves while he continues his search for his new family."

“It has been such a rewarding process to foster Prince and I have loved seeing him begin to enjoy life, settle into a home routine and overcome his anxieties.

"Prince makes me smile and laugh at his antics every day, and he really deserves a home that will understand him, allow him to be himself and embrace each and every small victory he has.”

Prince is searching for a quiet and relaxed home where he can enjoy plenty of long walks and a gentle fuss.

He is a "sensitive soul" and is nervous around people he doesn’t know.

However, since arriving at Battersea, Prince has progressed in leaps and bounds.

Prince has made friends with many different dogs in the charity’s care and would be suitable for homes with an existing dog of a similar size and personality.
