Readers have been excited to hear about a new children's play area which is soon to open within Windsor Great Park.

Adventure Play, located at Savill Garden, is a Woodland themed play area, incorporating slides, treehouses and areas for creative play.

However, plenty of adults have enviously cast their eyes over the play area wishing it was open to adults.

Kathryn Allison said: "I wish they made them for adults."

"I’m going to be pushing the kids out the way," added Hannah Phillips.

While Chanel Ledgerwood said: "That looks amazing! I want to go and play there."

An update from Windsor Great Park says that you can do just that, stating "but this is not just for the children".

Set to open in summer 2023, the area will incur a separate charge from the Savill Gardens entry fee.

While not yet known how much the park will cost, those looking to visit by car can expect to pay £3 an hour for parking.

An update to Windsor Great Park's site describes the area as "a unique, hand-crafted adventure playground".

"Hidden within the woodland next to The Savill Garden, you’ll discover a fascinating world of walkways, slides, sculptures and treehouses.

"Whether they want to climb among the trees or explore the amazing giant acorns, you can be right there, feeding their imagination and watching their confidence grow.

"Because this is play like you remember it – getting close to nature, challenging the body and stimulating the senses.

"All are welcome, whatever their age, need or ability."

However, it seems we still have a few more months to wait before the opening.

Val Bullett said: "Looks great and has been looking great for some time. Thought it was going to be open last summer."

According to Windsor Great Park, prices and the option to pre-book a slot at the Adventure Play area will be available in early June.

Judging by the interest in the park, it will be the place to visit this summer.

Elo Van Verpoort said: "A very very cool place to bring the kids once it opens."

"It’s looking great," added Heather Hall. "I’ve been watching them build it over the last year or so on my many walks in the park."
