A SLOUGH man who called 999 and threatened to blow up a police station before being racially abusive has been jailed again for further offences.

Ranjit Dhaliwal, 41, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday (April 25) for breaking a restraining order in respect to his family as well as possession of a bladed article, criminal damage and a public order offence.

He was jailed for two years with the main offence being the breach of the restraining order in June last year.

Dhaliwal was previously sentenced in December 2019 at the age of 38 for threatening to blow up a police station, a house and threatened to shoot police officers on May 15, 2019.

He was given an eight-week sentence suspended for six months after being charged with one count of sending by public communication network an offence/indecent/obscene or menacing message.

Prosecuting, Francis Gaskin told the court that Dhaliwal, of Yew Tree Road, was back in court for showing up at his family home despite a restraining order with a ‘large stone’.

He was then caught on CCTV throwing the stone at a car, causing criminal damage costing just under £5,000. Dhaliwal was later arrested and a butter knife was found hidden in his sock which he said he carried for his protection.

A month earlier, he was arrested by police for an unrelated offence and was ‘very abusive’ to the officers. He was recorded calling them, ‘white racist c***s’.

The court heard he has 33 convictions for 65 previous offences.

Reading out a victim impact statement from Dhaliwal’s sister, Mr Gaskin said: “She said this has been going on for many years which has caused huge distress on her, her mother and her father.

“She’s constantly worried about him coming out of prison. She spends the day on edge. She’s always anxious, when she hears a noise outside she’s fearful it’s him and is worried about what he might do.”

Defending Dhaliwal, Stuart Dingle said the man wants to ‘get out of Slough and stay out of Slough’ upon his release from prison.

He said: “He wants to put the relationship with his sister behind him however it started. He has also asked me to express his remorse to the court.”

Judge Kirsty Real sentenced Dhaliwal to two years for the breach of the restraining order, two months concurrent for the criminal damage, two months concurrent for the bladed article and no separate penalty for the public order offence.
