Slough residents are 'devastated' after a pub in the heart and the community announced its closure.

The Three Tuns, located on the Bath Road, is to close its doors for the last time on the weekend of June 17 and 18.

It follows the news that the historic grade II listed pub has been sold by the freeholder.

Lynette Chadwick said: "So very sad. Was my local for years. Slough is unrecognisable these days."

The pub has been described as "always busy" with "nice food" and "nice people".

Pat Rance added that is has been a "landmark" for years, while Greg Nelson added that the news is a "great shame".

Another commenter has said: "An end of an era."

The Three Tuns has been operated by the same group in Slough for nearly 15 years.

It is currently unknown who has bought the property, however worried residents fear for the pub's future, with many guessing it will become a supermarket or flats.

Tesco has denied interest in the building, despite rumours widely circulating about it becoming a Tesco Express.
