A pub at the heart of the community has announced a final hurrah ahead of closing its doors this month.

The Three Tuns confirmed its closure on May 25 as locals shared their devastation at the news.

Manager of The Three Tuns George Bhambra said: "It has been very saddening and has taken a long while to digest."

"I guess all things including good things must eventually come to an end."

The news came as the freeholder of the Grade II listed building situation on the Bath Road sold the site to an unknown party.

It has now been announced that The Three Tuns will be going out with a bang with a closing party featuring DJs and Indian drummers set to perform at the pub on their closing weekend (June 16 and 17).

Looking back at the last 15 years of serving the local community, George added: "I have seen customers coming in as kids with their families who are now coming in as adults with their own children.

"There are too many highlights to list.

"We have been known as a sporting pub and have held some huge events over the years.

"Hosting the Euro 2020 final was a recent one I can vividly remember - an electric atmosphere."

However, it isn't all doom and gloom as The Three Tuns team sets their sights on another venture at Ye Olde Crowne Pub, 1090 Uxbridge Road, Hayes, Middlesex.

"I would like to say a huge thank you to all of our loyal customers over the years.

"They have made us the successful pub that we are.

"Equally I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff that have worked with us over the years.

"We have made lifelong friendships with some of our customers and team members. They are all hugely appreciated."
