TWO men have been jailed after conspiracy to supply Class A drugs in 2018.
Malik Khan and Zaheer Shabbir, both 34, were sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Friday (June 16) to two counts of conspiracy to heroin and cocaine.
The pair were found guilty after a trial at the same court and were handed custodial sentences by Judge Edward Burgess.

Khan, of Australia Avenue in Maidenhead, was sentenced to five years and nine months imprisonment and Shabbir, of Sawyer’s Close in Windsor, was sentenced to three years and nine months imprisonment.
Sentencing the pair, Judge Burgess said: “You both ran a cutthroat defence against each other. These defences were comprehensively rejected by the jury.
“They took their time with that. Quite rightly, in my judgement, the jury verdicts reflected the overwhelming nature of the evidence.
“The prosecution has identified a difference between the two of you. It seems to me however that the text messages relied on as the closest thing to evidence as the existence of the conspiracy…it’s a partnership.”

Three members of the jury returned to hear the sentencing remarks and family members were present in the public gallery.
Both men will serve half of their sentence before being released on licence.
